All 149 P&S students participating in Match Day 2015 were matched to a residency, reports Lisa Mellman, MD, senior associate dean for student affairs. The most popular residency is internal medicine (18 percent). Other disciplines the students matched to: orthopedic surgery (8 percent), psychiatry (8 percent), pediatrics (7 percent), emergency medicine (6 percent), ophthalmology (6 percent), urology (5 percent), anesthesiology (4 percent), ob/gyn (4 percent), and otolaryngology (4 percent). More women (82) than men (67) participated in this year’s match. About a third of the participants (32 percent) matched in primary care fields (family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, and ob/gyn).
